Taqueria Monja Blanca, situated at 1109 Villa Ave, Sioux City, is making waves in the local Mexican cuisine scene. Patrons have mixed feelings about the offerings here, with highlights including their all-day breakfast burritos, which steal the spotlight. Many customers rave about the freshness and variety, especially the standout tongue tacos and steak options. Jordan Renee appreciates the efficiency of service, noting the drive-through convenience and even a walk-up window for those without wheels.
However, not all reviews are glowing. Some diners, like Savage Queen00420, encountered dry chicken tacos and are left longing for better execution. Nonetheless, other voices, like Zach, consider this place a hidden gem, safe in the knowledge that tacos offer delightful choices beyond the standard.
Given the occasional inconsistency, it's wise to approach with tempered expectations. Yet the enthusiasm towards unique flavors stands out, making Taqueria Monja Blanca an essential stop for adventurous eaters in Sioux City.

Reviews for Taqueria Monja Blanca
Review highlights
Based on 361 reviewsTaqueria Monja Blanca is recognized for its diverse and flavorful Mexican offerings, particularly its highly praised breakfast burritos served throughout the day. Customers appreciate the fast service and convenient drive-through or walk-up window options, making it a practical choice for quick meals. While many find the food fresh and tasty, some note inconsistencies in certain items, such as dry chicken or fragile tortillas, and occasional variations in staff demeanor. The restaurant offers a wide variety of taco options, appealing to adventurous eaters and those seeking classic flavors alike. Overall, it is viewed as a hidden gem in Sioux City for casual, speedy Mexican cuisine with room for improvement in select areas.
I got chicken tacos and they weren't too bad but the chicken was so dry I could almost choke on it. The flavor was alright tho but the tortilla was falling apart and the worker was giving off negative energy. Overall I would say you should still try it but dont get your hopes too high. Also they do not serve pozole.
Depending on how busy they are, they are usually quick with getting their food out fast to you. They serve their breakfast burritos all day long which I highly recommend over any of their other burritos. It’s only a drive through place no seating inside. There’s also a walk up window If you got no car.
Fantastic food. Always fresh. Great breakfast burritos served all day. Hidden gem.
Its was the best It was good And Nice All though there fast in my opinion there nice!:)
Delicious, lots of variety for tacos, never thought I'd be eating a tounge taco but boy was it good, steak tacos good for the safe eater, would skip the chicken but with so many options why pick chicken. Used to hate driving through city city, this makes it just a bit beeter.
2 for 2 on excellent carne asada tacos. The meat seems like it is higher quality than some other taco places around town and is savory v. dried out. They are crazy fast also. My new hidden gem.
Food is very good, but some of their prices are questionable.
Burritos are good. But I have ordered fish tacos on 3 different occasions. First time, absolutely awesome. Second time, terrible. Went tonight and ordered fish tacos again, hoping the last time was a fluke. I get home and one of them had a little bit of fish in it. The other tomatoes and lettuce and onions and cilantro. Not one single piece of fish. I won't be getting fish tacos from there anymore. And I spent 16 dollars on 6 tacos. Seemed a little steep for what I got.
